Hooray, time for the Fremont Fair! City Guides actually has an article ranking the Solstice Parade (nude bike ride, and all) as one of the countrys' best solstice events. I'm also a big fan of the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island...
Quoted: Now in its 37th year, Fremont Fair returns to celebrate the Summer Solstice and the best of our community. During Fair weekend, people from all walks of life come together to shop, eat, drink, perform, smile, dance, run, converse, debate, groove and parade.
redotted from dragonc:
Quoted: Now in its 35th year, Fremont Fair returns to celebrate the Summer Solstice and the best of our community: art, spirit, sharing, celebration and working together to help each other. During Fair weekend, people from all walks of life come together to shop, eat, drink, perform, smile, dance, run, converse, debate, groove and parade.

The Fremont Fair is this Saturday!!!
I've been walking up and down Fremont Ave, occasionally peeking in the public art house to see what they have in store for the parade. You can go to my picblog and see some of them. The parade starts at noon. I can't wait!

And while Fremont Fair continues to emphasize good times, don't forget about the good work it does by raising awareness and understanding of the needs of low-income people in our community. Presented by Fremont Public Association (FPA), all donations received during this FREE event go directly to fund FPA programs that provide shelter, food, advocacy and care for low-income families and individuals throughout Seattle and King County. YOU CAN HELP! Bring a buck or two to drop in the orange donation boxes at the main festival entrances. It only takes $1 to make a difference!

These could really come in handy since every single time we fly we're smuggling home wine or liqour. I'm tired of wrapping bottles in clothes, newspaper, bubble wrap--super McGyver style--to get it home. Hooray for entrepreneurial winos!
