This is the Web site of 1-800-FREE411, America's #1 provider of FREE telephone directory assistance (411). The site has been designed to provide you with additional information about this exciting new service.
T-Mobile will charge you $1.49 for a 411 call. Program 1-800-FREE-411 (800 373 3411) into your speed dial instead.
You'll have to sit through two ads. One at the beginning of your call, and another just before you receive the number you're asking about.
Unfortunately, no option to be automatically connected (which can be a pain if you're driving and talking on your phone at the same time).

Free directory assistance for your home and cell phone. Ad supported. Request a phone number, listen to a 15 second ad and then receive results. Good alternative to carriers charging up to $1.25 for directory assistance.

thanks!

i use this fairly often and have been happy. one downside though as opposed to 411 is that you have to punch in the looked up number manually.

To save $1 or $1.50 or whatever it is, I am happy to do so. Besides, that way it gets into the cell phone outlog.

i've been using this despite the annoyances you mention.
I've been using it for about a year. Most calls (ads included) take almost exactly one minute. Quality of the number you get is spotty: business or government numbers are the wrong department much of the time (30%?) but what do you expect for free?
