Redirecting the mouse and keyboard is as simple as moving the mouse off the edge of your screen. Synergy also merges the clipboards of all the systems into one, allowing cut-and-paste between systems. Furthermore, it synchronizes screen savers so they all start and stop together and, if screen locking is enabled, only one screen requires a password to unlock them all. This (free) software is amazing, I use it for sharing a mouse and keyboard between my desktop / laptop (over the network). A new version was released earlier this month which seems to have fixed quite a few bugs.

It doesn't sound ho-hum if you actually need it ... it's especially cool since it's cross platform. I can move my mouse from my Windows desktop to a Mac or Linux box in addition to Windows ... have used this for a while, love it (despite a few quirks).
