リニューアルの目玉は外部サービスとの連携。TwitterやFlickr、はてなブックマークなどの約30の外部サービスを利用可能で、“ソーシャルWebポータル”がリニューアルのコンセプトだ。
ユーザーは、自分のプロフィール画面に、gooが運営するサービスの更新情報に加え、自分が利用する外部サービスの更新情報を表示できる。マイページである「マイホーム」では、登録した友人や気になっているユーザーの更新情報を一覧でチェックできる。更新情報はタイムライン表示のほか、サービスやカテゴリ別の表示も可能だ。「多くの人は『写真投稿にはFlickr』など、一般的なSNSとは別に、多くのサービスを利用している。だったらすべて1 つのページの中でチェックできたら便利なのでは」（上床担当課長）
