Sounds like a "thank you" more than a decision about the future. Oh well, can't say I disagree with the move.
Quoted: The Detroit Tigers decided Ivan Rodriguez was worth another $13 million.

"It was an awkward game tonight. Offensively we were very ragged. Our timing was off and we tried to do too much."
-- Phil Jackson
Tonight's win ties the Lakers' best start in franchise history (17-2). Let's pause and reflect on that. The Lakers are an old franchise, 61 years, and this is their best start. The Lakers are historically a good franchise, with 14 NBA championships, and this is their best start. Do you think the expectations for the season are high?
Final score: 105-92

its not like his defense was slipping. Sure his bat has gotten slower, but when your alternative is tossing Inge, Rabelo or Wilson behind the plate, and you look around the AL and see that contenders are throwing guys like Varitek, Napoli and Bengie Molina in there, I can see how you would give it one more year.
Agreed. Jorge f'ing Posada is looking at a huge payday. Pudge is arguably still worth $13 million and fans would have been understandably upset if they dropped an icon over a few million dollars. Although I wouldn't mind putting Inge back behind the plate. That guy is an albatross at 3rd, but w/ Casey gone now we have to keep a whitey around.
