@ UW Kane Hall on Oct 24th 2006 selling her new book. It is a little pricey here at $60 compared to Amazon's $45 ... but she will be signing her new book, holding forth [I imagine] on Photography. Ironically, she will not be posing for photographs ;-)
Thanks to Raji for the info. I haven't seen the book but R says it includes pics of Monument Valley, Susan Sontag(a writer coyly referred to as Ann's 'friend' in mainstream media), Brad Pitt, Sly Stallone(naked, for those of you who like your beefcake), the Bush cabinet from Dec2001(no doubt showing steely resolve in B/W while secretly preparing for the Iraq invasion). Lots of celebrities...
Since bluedot insists on pulling Amy Sedaris's pic out of the events page, she'll be here Oct 30th.

Eric, how was this? I would have liked to go but was busy tour-guiding... would like to hear about the book, as well.
No problem, Don! Just picked up the new Kurzweil book and look forward to checking him out on Monday night!
Thanks for Dotting this Eric. I live only a few blocks away and this is really helpful.
Univeristy of Washington Bookstore Events Calendar. Ray Kurzweil is at Town Hall on Monday.

Tom Friedman was talking about this book on The Daily Show. However, he said that the financial boom bubble doesn't qualify. Specifically, "The real tragedy of this moment is that this financial boom bubble and bust has left us with a bunch of empty condos in Florida and a bunch of dead, derivative contracts that no-one understands."

This was written a year ago.
1 FaverViewed: 2 TimesQuoted: The global imbalances created by this dynamic of American borrowing and foreign lending appear stable for now, but if they slip suddenly, that could pose serious dangers for middle- and working-class Americans through soaring interest rates, a crash in the housing market, and sharply higher prices for anything no longer made domestically.

How was it?
Pretty good... he does good readings and Q&A.
When I got home I wanted to reread Iron Council, but it seems like Perdido, the Scar, and Iron Council have all wandered away (or crept slowly away, flapping their covers like scallops)
