i think it's true that you have to cultivate an appreciation for the outdoors in kids- they should get opportunities to hike, bike, kayak and develop a love of being outside. i also think it's true that we have to connect the "environment" to more than just these far away treks in nature - it's also about urban parks, water we drink and our health.
oh, and the title of this one is just for you Ben :-)
