My mom pulled out her very very old oil lamp last night. She was cooking with gas and reading by the light of the lamp. At least there's no worry that the food in her (idle) freezers will go bad... She says it's by far the worst ice storm she's seen in her more than fifty Oklahoma winters.
Wow! My mom seemed pretty calm about it on the phone - if she doesn't get power back she's going to my sister's house today.
