    If you're of French extraction you can use this site to see if your ancestors were guillotined during the French Revolution. Happy to see that mine were not, which makes sense since they lived far from Paris in Avignon.

      If my ancestors had gone under the guillotine, I wouldn't exist so I couldn't check it out, right?!

      The crafty Dutch were snorkeling about, raising cattle below sea level and such... clearly not nearly important enough to warrant the guillotine treatment. And of course they too were living far from Paris, in Groningen and Friesland.
