Don't know much about the Swiss Alps, but I hear Grenoble (French Alps) is pretty good. I think Grenoble hosted the winter olympics in the mid-80s (for what it's worth).
Unfortunately, I am not that worldly or that Euro. It took me many years of living in Seattle to even make it snowboarding in Canada... Blech. I need to go ride somewhere on another continent.
