BaseAppは単体で意味をなすものではない。よく使われるプラグインやデザインを元々組み込んで提供しているソフトウェアだ。データベースの設定はSQLite3/MySQL/PostgreSQL向けに既に個々に用意されている。Railsは2.1.2をベースにしているなど、最新版が追従されている。
