Fascinating trend, although in India, people just feed their dogs table scraps and they seem perfectly happy (which they should be, considering they eat better than I do).

Dogs will eat whatever you feed them, but don't have the digestive systems to properly process things like table scraps and most people food. Most dogs that have diet insufficiencies (primarily around meat) will end up with a much shorter lifespan and chronic illnesses starting around age 4 or 5...
In India dogs eat what their owners eat and live long lives.
