I am definitely a better at cycling than running.
Quoted: On the whole, cycling is a lot more forgiving of body type and age than running is.

makes sense, and this explains why I see a significant number "fat" cyclists
OMG, I was wondering about that. I see quite a few fat cyclists, but they always look like they know what they're doing/have been biking for a long time. Maybe they bike a lot but are just big due to genes? I dunno.
Swiming is the forgivingist sport for the large boned people.
What does that mean? That it's easy for big people to do or that it's not a big fat-burner?
Easy for fat people to do it, *and* it is a huge fat burner. The water supports your weight, keeping strain off your joints. But every movement is met with resistance providing good aerobic exercise. I don't intend to dis fat people, swimming is really good for everyone. I wish I were more coordinated, and had a pool so I could do it.
