Pathetic. Newsweek makes it sound like it is all decided. Clearly, the author has no clue how science really works, especially in such highly contentious field.
Quoted: A new study of a skeleton of a member of a race of three-foot-tall 'hobbits' who lived 12,000 years ago in Indonesia shows that they were a species of human--and that the evolutionary path to Homo sapiens has been tortuous indeed.

The evidence seems a bit weak.
But I dotted it because I have been following some of the recent Neanderthal research, such as trying to resurrect Neanderthal DNA (only partially successful) and sort out how much Neanderthals mixed with humans. On this last question, I have seen varying reports, from no mixing to clear evidence of mixing. If anyone sees anything more on this, please let me know.
Quoted: A team of scientists says it was at Gibraltar 28,000 years ago, 2,000 years more recently than previously thought.

That was not nice of Roddick.
1 FaverViewed: 16 TimesQuoted: That litany of health issues Novak Djokovic dealt with earlier in the week -- hip, ankle, stomach and more -- seemed a tad humorous to Andy Roddick. So Roddick joked about it, first by saying in an on-court interview it sounded as though Djokovic had "about 16 injuries," then by wondering aloud whether the problems might not also include bird flu, anthrax, SARS and a common cold. - Tennis news
