more snelling trade analysis.
Quoted: I don't think I need to delve into all the reasons why this is stupid. DH, because it requires zero in the way of athleticism or fielding prowess, is the easiest position to fill on the roster. Anyone capable of holding and swinging a bat in a circular motion is more than qualified.

I love Ichiro. And I'm torn on whether he should be traded by the M's before he becomes a free agent. This is a good argument for why he should be kept.
Quoted: When the conversation of Ichiro comes up in a crowd, invariably, half of them will talk about his unwillingness to be a leader, his lack of power, the frustrating slumps he goes into, his selection of when to steal bases, and his lower OPS compared to other players who are considered stars. There are a lot of people who view Ichiro as a good-but-not-great player, a uniquely talented singles hitter who doesn’t do enough other things to help a team win.

I'm a baseball stat junkie. I love Baseball Prospectus, one of the best sites on the internet for objective analysis on players and teams from a statistics perspective.
Anyway, it's a pay site but there are some free articles, like this one about my favorite guy to heckle because we're paying him a ton of money to SUCK: Adrian Beltre.
Quoted: Beltre’s woefully slow start is no laughing matter in the Emerald City, not when he’s in the second year of a five-year, $64 million contract that’s paying him to be a star performer. Through Wednesday’s game, Beltre was hitting .161
