You will have noticed from my previous post about Micro Niche Finder, that I am a raving fan of this software. Very quickly, it identifies profitable niches for you to target. Now, of course, if you have got a lot of time on your hands, you can always do it manually. Just go to the Wordtracker free tool, key in your suggested term and then choose one of these terms and paste that into Google within "quotation marks". Divide the Wordtracker number by the number of results found on Google and you will then have an idea of whether this is an attractive niche to attack. I like a ratio of at least 5 visitors per month per competing site to make it worthwhile. That is of course if the overall number of visitors is big enough in the first place. OR, for what is a paltry investment, you could use this brilliant piece of software instead. The marketing and business opportunities it will open up for you are enormous. Have a look at these videos and see for yourself:
Video 1: Create Simple Little One Page Articles to Promote Affiliate Products:
Video 2: Create Adsense Content Pages that Pay You Residual Ad Revenue:
Video 3: Create Niche Market Private Label Rights Packages and Sell these for a Quick Profit:
Video 4: Create Squidoo Lenses and claim your share of the profits generated by the traffic:
Video 5: Create eBay feeder pages and make money when new users register for eBay:
But to be honest, the thing I like about it the most is that it makes step 1 of how to get your sites to no 1 in 48 hours an absolute breeze. This brilliant software is now in my 'must have' tool bag. I suggest you put it in yours too.

If you've been following this blog, you will know that I have been conducting a live experiment to see if I could conquer Google for two chosen search terms. The full story can be found here. I am very interested in the results achieved IN LESS THAN 1 week and I am seriously considering reshaping my marketing efforts based on these findings. At the start of this process, I had neither links to these keywords or rankings for these keywords in Google. So, after LESS than 1 week I have:
For paper gifts for first anniversary (campaign started 4th May 2008):
    2 out of 10 page 1 listings (20%)
Around 87 links listed in Google
For funny 50th birthday poem (campaign started 7th May 2008):
    3 out of 10 page 1 listings (30%)
Around 150 links listed in Google
It's been a resounding success!! With those links sitting there my pages will drift upwards in the coming weeks and I am confident that I will have positions 1, 2 and 3 within the fortnight. The other (so far) unspoken benefit is that all these links only go to strengthen my sites as a whole. The more links you have pointing to your site the bigger the authority you are. As we speak there will be unseen benefits for other keywords from these efforts. For example, I also have 2 out of the top 10 on Google for one of the 'nested' keywords i.e. 50th birthday poem.
This is what has got me interested. By using Micro Niche Finder I know I can identify sweet little niches that I can dominate. This is not spam or black hat, just good old fashioned SEO, giving Google what it wants; fresh, updated, keyword focused content.
To finish off these campaigns I will complete a round of social bookmarking (I'll show you how that is done QUICKLY in the coming days).
In the meantime, I have created a Squidoo Lens that focuses on a funny 50th birthday poem. I've also submitted the RSS feed to my favorite RSS aggregators using RSS Feed Submit i.e.
    http://www.squidoo.com/xml/syndicate_lens/funny_50th_birthday_poem
That's about it. I hope you've enjoyed this little experience, I know I have.

To be honest, Google is quite happy to reveal a lot of it's secrets, all you need is to install Google Analytics (it's free). For example, I was reviewing one of my sites earlier today and these are the 'Google secrets' I discovered:
    1. Year to date I have had 141,228 Visits, 274,099 Pageviews @ 1.94 Pages/Visit.
    2. The site is growing nice and steady and has reached around 2,000 visitors per day. It is certainly trending in the right direction.

    3. But to me, these are the most interesting facts, the 'Google secrets' that will probably relate to your site too. This is where my traffic comes from:
    18.96% Direct Traffic
    13.29% Referring Sites
    67.75% Search Engines
So, 67.75% = 95,684 visitors but Google sent 48,960 of those visitors, so in short, Google is responsible for around 35% of my TOTAL traffic. I'll repeat that, directly from Google Search, I get 35% of my TOTAL traffic. When you add in the effect that has on the direct traffic and referring sites, I conservatively estimate that Google Search is responsible for at least 50% of my total traffic.
That is the Google secret I wanted to share with you. If you are not targeting your search campaigns SPECIFICALLY at Google, then at least 50% of your efforts are being wasted.
The other important point to realize is that these 90 odd thousand visitors came from just about 30,000 DIFFERENT search terms. So, if you haven't got a long tail keyword strategy in place then you are in trouble. Please see No 1 in 48 hours for more details.
Finally, if you haven't got Google Analytics installed then you are playing with one hand behind your back and yes, you are definitely wearing a blindfold…

Everyone knows that social bookmarking is an important SEO strategy. But what a lot of people fail to realize is that their social bookmarking pages also need a lot of loving. Do this two ways:
    1. Most social bookmarking sites allow you to publish a RSS feed of your page. i.e.
    http://www.blinklist.com/sankararao/rss.xml
    http://www.diigo.com/rss/user/Sankararao
    http://feeds.delicious.com/rss/allenjesson
Simply submit these feeds using http://allenkno.ws/and-recommends/RSS and you've just created a lot of love to every one of your bookmarks.
    2. The other important thing to do is to give a little link love to your actual bookmark page as well, i.e.:
    http://del.icio.us/allenjesson
You can hyperlink using a target keyword or leave it 'natural', as I've done. Just mention it in your blog, then it will become part of your RSS feed, then that will get submitted to all and sundry because you've already submitted your blog's RSS feed using http://allenkno.ws/and-recommends/RSS, hadn't you? I'm sure you get the idea.
There you go. Two great little tips to dramatically increase your link love. Over to you.

http://friendfeed.com/allenjesson, another great resource. Basically you can combine your Twitter, Digg, Blogger and YouTube feeds to create one.
    http://friendfeed.com/allenjesson?format=atom&auth=8PBA2vGxdbiqrhId
Yes, of course, that means you can then submit this new feed to the RSS Aggregators. Simply submit your new feed using http://allenkno.ws/and-recommends/RSS and you've just created a lot of link love to every one of your bookmarks/sites/twitters contained within the feed.
You should also know that I also use http://allenkno.ws/and-recommends/RSS2. Don't be put off by the name, these guys know their stuff. I use both RSS submission services, usually alternating. Thought you should know.
