    Stage6 · Upload Video Clips. Share, Watch, Download Videos

    Quoted: Stage 6: A place for people who love video to post videos, share videos, download and watch streaming videos.

    Hello and welcome to Stage6
    DivX Stage6 is a place for people who love video. It's a high-quality platform that lets anyone upload, download, view, share and experience everything from short clips captured on mobile phones all the way up to full-length, high-definition feature films. Anyone can become a publisher, anyone can build an audience and every video available on Stage6 is compatible with over 70 million consumer electronics devices from every major manufacturer, making it easy to play back Stage6 videos on your television or portable device.
    That's a functional description of what the service offers. But Stage6 is also something else. It's an experiment. Like all experiments, it exists to test assumptions and answer questions. In this case, those questions are about the future of media. How do new technologies and platforms re-shape the content experience? Instead of just making things different, can digital media actually make things better? Is it possible for a video site to offer more than dogs on skateboards?
    We think the answer, to that last question at least, is yes. More generally, we believe that digital media offers great promise for both content creators and consumers, and we want to do our part to help make sure the full breadth of that promise is realized. Digital tools and technologies have made the creation of content easier, cheaper and faster than ever before; anyone can become a filmmaker, and thanks to the Internet, anyone can share their content with the world.
    But we believe that filmmakers can use the power of the Internet to do more than just "distribute" their work. We want to offer a platform that, ultimately, helps match the right audience to the right content, that lets filmmakers build and interact with communities of people, thereby deepening and transforming the content itself. We believe that consumers can do more than just 'consume' content in a digital age, that the act of viewing a piece of content is deepened by active participation. So that's part of what we're trying to get at with Stage6. It's an evolving space, as you'll no doubt discover, and we expect to get plenty of things wrong over time. We also hope to get some things right, and there are a few principles that will guide everything we do on the site:

    || Encyclopaedia Britannica ||

    Quoted: Encyclopedia Britannica Online, featuring the complete Encyclopedia Britannica, Britannica Concise Encyclopedia, Merriam-Webster's Dictionary & Thesaurus, videos, web sites, and magazines.The Encyclopædia Britannica is a general encyclopedia published by Encyclopædia Britannica Inc., a privately held company owned by Swiss billionaire and actor Jacqui Safra. The Britannica is the oldest continuously published English-language encyclopedia.[1] Its articles are written by a dedicated staff of 19 full-time editors and by over four thousand contributors, who typically contribute to a single subject in which they are recognized authorities. The articles are targeted at educated adult readers,[2] although simplified versions have been developed. Despite its name and preference for British spelling, the Britannica has been published in the United States since 1901.[2]

    The Britannica was first published from 1768–71 in three volumes under the title Encyclopædia Britannica. However, beginning with the 11th edition, the Britannica chose to simplify and shorten its articles, making them more accessible to lay-readers, with the goal of broadening its North American market. In 1933, the Britannica became the first encyclopedia to adopt a "continuous revision" policy in which the encyclopedia would be revised and reprinted every year, and every article checked at least twice per decade.

    Beginning with the current 15th edition, the Britannica adopted a unique three-part structure: a Micropædia of roughly 65,000 short articles (typically with no references, no named authors and fewer than 750 words), a Macropædia of roughly 700 long articles (each article having 2-310 pages, references and named contributors), and a single Propædia volume that seeks to give a hierarchical outline of all human knowledge.
    An increasing number of alternative information sources have reduced the popular demand for print encyclopedias significantly. The Britannica has weathered this competition on the strength of its reputation, and by lowering its price point, reducing its costs drastically and developing electronic versions on CD-ROM, DVD and the World Wide Web. Although its reputation for excellence has been questioned recently by several respectable critics, such criticisms have been challenged vigorously by the Britannica's management

    Universe | REVEALING OUR MODERN MYTHOLOGY

    Quoted: An interactive study of modern mythology, using global news data from Daylife...An art project more than anything else, Universe uses the Daylife news database (and a user-supplied search term) as its source. Then it displays news in a unique and strange formats. The "stars" view, for example, shows a scrolling field of stars and constellations. When you click on one (without any indication of what it is), you go to a screen with your star's term in the center of the screen, surrounded by a roulette wheel of words or stories related to it.
    Other visualizers pull out quotes from stories, show personalities (the "superstars" view), or display timelines of stories.

    In many of the views, you don't know what you're going to get until you click on a link, which adds the "myth" of the news
