Got mega jetlag and have been surfing online. Found this cool service that converts emails to text messages to your phone, for free.
This could totally take the place of my blackberry, except for the fact that each text msg is limited to 120 characters, meaning that each of my emails would require about 10+ text msgs. Good thing is that you can limit the number of text msgs received for each email, as well as from which friends/email accounts you receive texts from. Coupled with an unlimited message plan, it would come out way cheaper than a blackberry plan for the casual user.

Wow, very interesting! The owners need to move and can't seem to sell in a depressed market (Los Alamos, NM) so they are raffling off their home.Prospective owners write a 500 word essay and include a $100 entry fee to be considered. The goal is to get 2500 essays, which would equal $250,000, the appraised value of the home. The owners would get their money, the winning essay writer would get an AWESOME deal....Creativity at work!Quoted: TradingMarkets New for - A House for $100? I was looking for a copy of an out-of-print book and happened upon Google Book Search, kinda like Amazon's "Look Inside," but with more pages for free. In some cases, entire books are available to be downloaded in .pdf, or to your Google Book account online for reading anywhere.

I just got an email from campus. Berkeley has taped and put onto YouTube a significant amount of recent university lectures (I think they have over 200 online). Per the email I received, Cal is the first university to do this.
Plus, with USC's recent loss to Stanford, the Golden Bears have moved up in the rankings to #2 in the Coaches Poll. Nice.

Some people in Berkeley are really crazy. Living in the trees for nearly a year? Come on...
I remember all the protests between the city, university and city residents over People's Park. That is a place where freedom and liberty is supposed to be unrestrained. In reality, it is a filthy place where bums live and fight. It is unsafe and I have routinely seen people urinate, defecate, fight, deal drugs.... Lawlessness is not necessarily a good thing.
Quoted: In Berkeley, Calif., a protest in the trees outside Memorial Stadium at the University of California has been business, and Berkeley, as usual.
