Looking for more information from military/civilian personnel assigned to or associated with the U.S. Army in Germany from 1945 to 1989. If you have any stories or thoughts on the subject
Boerfink was cleared of surface buildings, all that remained was the bunker entrance. The area inside the fence was well kept. Sandkopf was still operational with a single German at the entrance. The bunker was to support one raised floor area with two rows of ten or so racks of Rode and Schwartz transmitters. One the opposite end of the room was our rack of equipment consisting of mix of AN/GRT-21, 22 transmitters. Next to our racks, was a console and two cabinets for the Collins 3KW HF transceivers, a 208U-3A. In the middle of the room was a ping-pong table and a Foosball table.
