so cool- I just found out that this guy that's on the board of the Arab Center of Washington, (John Sinno) was nominated for an Oscar as his role as one of the producers of Iraq in Fragments! he's a really nice guy, I haven't watch the documentary yet though...

it's been a weekend of great movies. i watched Volver last night at the 45th Guild Cinema. It was a great film, really difficult to give a synopsis. But it's definitely a must see!

I love the idea of this tv series. apparently it's playing in the middle east now (according to the new york times article). they should really play it here too- americans need to learn about Arabs just as much as the reverse.

NO WAY! any ideas on how this guy does this stuff?

watched this movie last night, it's a story of an orthodox jewish family living in paris. the younger daughter begins learning about philosophy and starts to drift away from her faith.
it's interesting to see how she and her family both struggle with it.
