Actually, the book was pretty much the same (in some respects the movie is actually better too). It's extremely short and lacked details. Everything just sort of happened by itself the moment the kids stepped foot into Narnia. I was disappointed by both, but having read the book first, I wasn't expecting a lot (keep in mind the book was targeted for a much younger audience).
