The Lakes finished with the best record in the western conference tonight. It will be a dream if they can make to the Finals, meet and once again beat the Celtics.
Quoted: They were practically left for dead before their season began, assembling on the shores of Honolulu for training camp without knowing if their best player would make it back to the mainland with them.
...
Six months later, they earned the top seeding in the West, tucking away home-court advantage throughout the conference playoffs with a 124-101 victory Tuesday over the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center.

Quote: Kobe Bryant & Co. plus Bynum in the first two months of the 2007-08 season equaled the top team in the Western Conference. Kobe & Co. plus Pau Gasol in the second half of the season equaled the Western Conference championship. Therefore, Kobe & Co. plus Gasol and Bynum should equal NBA champs, right?
ESPN's J.A. Adande analyzes the Lakers' upcoming season with a healthy Bynum added to the Bryant-Gasol powerhouse.

Quoted: In the ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, Marcia C. Smith reports "History lends the Lakers, who are down 3-2 in the best-of-7 NBA Finals, the word never. Only eight teams in NBA history have rallied from a 3-1 deficit to win a seven-game playoff series, but no team has ever done it to win an NBA championship.

Here's a nice picture of Mr. 36 Points for Drock.

Lakes sweep the first round.
Quoted: After consecutive seasons of frustrating playoff exits against Phoenix, along with a non-playoff hiccup in 2004-05, the Lakers advanced beyond the first round for the first time since 2004. They hadn't swept a playoff series since beating New Jersey in the 2002 NBA Finals.

"They're the best in the West at this point," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "Their rhythm is good, everybody knows their roles, they are playing confidently, defense looks very good. Heck of a team."ShareViewed: 2 Times

Laker fan Flea writes an open letter to the fans to stop booing players.
Quoted: i am embarrassed today to be counted among the number who derisively boo our current starting center kwame brown
...
though i was not at the game, and though i would never boo a laker player, i am shamedWhatever. I think boos can be motivating and sometimes necessary when you see a team or player playing below their ability. Relentless booing of a team, every time they possess the ball, should be be reserved for the Celtics and of course the Kings (that's for KA Parker).

You must be Tosh's friend before you can comment on this Fave.hahaha...Lakers beating the Celtics? hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. But I digress. However, I am also salivating at the thought, so the Celts can kick some Laker butt...AGAIN!
Them's fightin' words! Go Lakes!!!!
Yeah really. The Lakers are going to send those bean-town chumps packin' like it's 1987!
I do seriously think the Celtics will have the easiest road to the finals as there's only one team in the east that has a remote shot at beating them and that's the Wizards. For some reason, the Wiz seem to have the C's figured out.
well, it sounds to be like we need to set up some sort of viewing drinks when the finals roll around so we can get down to some real trash talking.
In the meantime, feast on this...

Go Celts!
Of course, the Wizards just might get knocked out in the 1st round by LeBron. Then the C's will be even more rested. Hm.
