Lakers make Nuggets vanish in thin air - Los Angeles Times

    Lakes sweep the first round.

Quoted: After consecutive seasons of frustrating playoff exits against Phoenix, along with a non-playoff hiccup in 2004-05, the Lakers advanced beyond the first round for the first time since 2004. They hadn't swept a playoff series since beating New Jersey in the 2002 NBA Finals.

The biggest thing most talk radio sportscasters in LA are talking about is the "difficulty" the Lakers might face in Salt Lake City next round because "they haven't really faced playoff basketball yet".

Yeah, I think that is probably true. I don't know what happen to the Nuggets. They were a 50 win team this year.

Why Can't Lakers Rewrite Finals History?

Quoted: In the ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, Marcia C. Smith reports "History lends the Lakers, who are down 3-2 in the best-of-7 NBA Finals, the word never. Only eight teams in NBA history have rallied from a 3-1 deficit to win a seven-game playoff series, but no team has ever done it to win an NBA championship.

Lakers clinch best in the West - Los Angeles Times

The Lakes finished with the best record in the western conference tonight. It will be a dream if they can make to the Finals, meet and once again beat the Celtics.

    ...
Six months later, they earned the top seeding in the West, tucking away home-court advantage throughout the conference playoffs with a 124-101 victory Tuesday over the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center.

an open letter to lakers fans in NBA Blogs in Fan Voice

Laker fan Flea writes an open letter to the fans to stop booing players.

Quoted: i am embarrassed today to be counted among the number who derisively boo our current starting center kwame brown
    ...
though i was not at the game, and though i would never boo a laker player, i am shamed

Whatever. I think boos can be motivating and sometimes necessary when you see a team or player playing below their ability. Relentless booing of a team, every time they possess the ball, should be be reserved for the Celtics and of course the Kings (that's for KA Parker).
