"It was an awkward game tonight. Offensively we were very ragged. Our timing was off and we tried to do too much."
-- Phil Jackson
Tonight's win ties the Lakers' best start in franchise history (17-2). Let's pause and reflect on that. The Lakers are an old franchise, 61 years, and this is their best start. Quote: Kobe Bryant & Co. plus Bynum in the first two months of the 2007-08 season equaled the top team in the Western Conference. We'll finally get to see last season's #1 pick Greg Oden this year, now that his knee has recovered. The Blazers should have a really decent team.
Quoted: Oden’s return should push the Trail Blazers into playoff contention for the first time since 2003, and perhaps into title contention in the near future. Coming out of Ohio State, Oden was viewed as a once-in-a-generation center, a skilled, powerful big man who could dominate the paint for the next decade.
