IO9 laments the SciFi channel's name change to "SyFy", and suggests alternatives. My favorite: The Mansquito And Proud Of It Channel

Quoted: It's been two days, and I still can't get my head around SciFi Channel being renamed "SyFy" (I mean, it's the same name! Just spelled stupidly!).

    Next stop: Everywhere!

Quoted: Alan McMorran has been working on a LEGO TARDIS and the 10th Doctor (”Doctor Who?” you ask. Exactly…) for a while now, and this his latest version is definitely my favorite. Note the venerable LEGO pieces Alan’s used in the TARDIS — perfect for an ancient device that’s seen many years and many miles.

Forbidden Planet: Robby The Robot Makes Comeback In Forbidden Planet Remake

<Sigh>. Why mess with a good thing? Will Leslie Nielsen will once again take on the role of Commander J. J. Adams?

Quoted: Forbidden Planet, the sci-fi version of Shakespeare's The Tempest, is getting the makeover treatment, courtesy of Babylon 5's J. Michael Straczynski and producer Joel Silver.

Five Thoughts on the Popularity of Steampunk

Quoted: We know now that 20th-century technology helped us solve lots of problems while creating entirely new ones that might be even scarier. In effect, we were expecting Star Trek and we got Blade Runner; all the quirky little bits of science fiction have come true, but we lost the big dream.

"The top 25 sci-fi movies and TV from the past 25 years"

Hm, I can't believe they include Galaxy Quest and Starship Troopers in the list and leave off Return of the Jedi and Dune. They have Clone Wars and Futurama and no Akira or Ghost in the Shell.

Btw, Heroes is overrated. That's right, I said it.
