very interesting. welcome to the future.
p.s. "Soilent Green is People!!!" hahaha.Quoted: Creating "national parks of the sea" may be the only effective way to reverse trends that have left 76 percent of world fish stocks fully- or over-exploited and marine biodiversity at severe risk, according to the new report, Oceans in Peril: Protecting Marine Biodiversity. The four environmental experts call for a radical change in fisheries management, from a single-species approach to one that is ecosystem based and also includes the use of precautionary measures to tackle pollution and to reduce carbon dioxide emissions that are changing the temperature and chemistry of the oceans.

Wow!
Quote from Raw Vision:"In her meticulously rendered, illusionistic drawings and paintings, Maura Holden creates richly detailed, self-contained worlds, in which fantastic primeval landscapes and cities made up of elaborate multi-tiered buildings emerge from banks of billowing fog or stand out against glowing, turbulent-looking skies. The human figures and gargoylish creatures populating these realms are most often frontally posed in confrontational stances, to somewhat unnerving effect. These are powerful, visionary images, evoking a deep sense of the uncanny."

The Panic Movement.
Quoted: A biography and related information about Alejandro Jodorowsky.
"In 1975, Jodorowsky, now living in Paris, announced his next project, an adaptation of Frank Herbert's sci-fi epic Dune starring Brontis Jodorowsky, Alexandro's son. Orson Welles, Gloria Swanson, and Salvador Dali were also on board, but the film never got past the production stage. Almost as intriguing as the cast was the development talent Jodorowsky employed, which included writer Dan O'Bannon and the artists Jean Giraud (aka Moebius), Chris Foss, and H.R. Giger. (All four would eventually work together on Alien.) Pink Floyd and the prog-rock group Magma were also reportedly on board to provide the score."

Quote from CNN: " Dean Kamen, the engineer who invented the Segway, is puzzling over a new equation these days. An estimated 1.1 billion people in the world don't have access to clean drinking water, and an estimated 1.6 billion don't have electricity. Those figures add up to a big problem for the world—and an equally big opportunity for entrepreneurs.
To solve the problem, he's invented two devices, each about the size of a washing machine that can provide much-needed power and clean water in rural villages.
"Eighty percent of all the diseases you could name would be wiped out if you just gave people clean water," says Kamen. "The water purifier makes 1,000 liters of clean water a day, and we don't care what goes into it. And the power generator makes a kilowatt off of anything that burns."

Chris Peters was in this show in LA. Over 2,000 people came to the opening. There's a great video here that describes the gallery but also features many of the works from the show.
The criteria for the 50 artists selected was that their art create a strong emotional response and also demonstrate excellent technical ability. It's apparent that all of these artists are quite talented; and they are all doing something quite interesting with it.
