I just saw Bill Moyers speak last night. He is such a hero of mine, and he was even more articulate and gentlemanly in person than I imagined. He was promoting this new book of his, about the Christian Right and their fatal threat to the environment. Scary but motivating stuff.

Speaking of books, this is one of the best I've read in a while. Part fictional autobiography, part cook cook, part mystery. The narrator is one of the most hilariously pretentious I've ever encountered. Genius.

secret wars comic book covers. you can't tell me this isn't sweet~ :P
FYI for the comic geeks - notice the lower left hand corner. this was originally shown to show 'first run' comics vs. reprints. the reprints had bar-codes. also if you notice they show the black custome of spiderman (which you later learn is venom).

A public experiment that was better in theory than in practice: "In the end, the restrooms, installed in early 2004, had become so filthy, so overrun with drug abusers and prostitutes, that although use was free of charge, even some of the city’s most destitute people refused to step inside them."
2 FaversViewed: 3 TimesQuoted: After spending $5 million, Seattle officials decided to close the city’s five automated public toilets, which had become filthy and costly.
