The Associated Press: Abba Drummer Found Dead in His Garden

Believe it or not this, well not this exactly, is a big (irrational) fear of mine. It is part of why I can't imagine living any farther than 20 minutes from a hospital.

Quoted: The spokesman said Brunkert hit his head against a glass door in his dining room, shattering the glass and cutting himself in the neck. He managed to wrap a towel around his neck and left the house to seek help, but collapsed in the garden.

Lions show interest in Alexander, Benson - Sports Rumors - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Clearly Matt Millen is that guy in your fantasy league that is always assembling what would have been the best team four years ago, then backs himself into a corner and offers outrageous trades as though nobody else can see his roster and determine that he has no leverage to make such an offer.

Quoted: Shaun Alexander was one of several running backs to meet with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday. Alexander, the former Seattle Seahawks star, worked out for the coaching staff at the team's practice facility while former Chicago Bears runner Cedric Benson, a former first-round draft pick, also came in for a visit.

    The circus is in town.

Quoted: A key witness in the O.J. Simpson robbery trial was confronted with contradictions in his testimony, including his claim that he didn't try to profit from the casino hotel room confrontation that led to charges against the former football star.

Quoted:Tempers in the case boiled as Roger referred to the confrontation as "the robbery." The defense, which claims Simpson was trying to recover stolen personal items, objected on grounds that was a legal conclusion. "He can call it alleged. I'm calling it a robbery," snapped Roger. The judge admonished Roger to say "at the time of the incident" or "at the time of the event." She told jurors to disregard his remark and then yelled at objecting lawyers: "Sit down!" "Listen, folks," she said. "The last thing you want me to do as the judge is to start losing my temper in front of the fine ladies and gentlemen of the jury and having to deal with all of you. You've been warned, folks."

Three former Tiger farmhands try to recover from a minor setback | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press

This is a weird little story about some spring training clubhouse fun that evidently created some hurt feelings.

Quoted: In 2003, a rap lyric during a spring training skit led to three Tigers prospects being released. Two found their way to the majors -- one faced the Tigers this past week -- while the third only has regrets.

Javon Walker's Absurd Account Proves He Is Perfect For Raiders - Mile High Report

This is the story Javon Walker is allegedly telling in regards to his recent robbery:

Quoted: “I was just back at my room and at about 5:30 in the morning I got a knock at the door. I opened it and 3 guys with guns were there. They cracked me in the head a few times, knocking me unconscious. They then robbed me of everything I had; my watch, money, everything! Somehow they got me to a car and dropped me off in the street. That’s what happened.”

The name of his hotel? The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Somehow nobody saw any of this?

Fake bus stop - FOX23 News

I believe this also the method (with fake cattle herds) they use to catch stray cows. At least this makes sense. Cows are just stupid.

Quoted: A German nursing home has created a pretend bus stop to prevent Alzheimer's patients from wandering off...The chairman of the local care association says since the patients' long term memory works better than their short, the patients know the bus stop means waiting there will take them back home. So nursing home staff say when wandering patients wait at the bus stop, they can approach them, tell them the bus is coming later and invite them in for coffee so the patients are not in any danger. The idea is reportedly so successful that several other homes across Germany are adopting it.

ESPN - Want to buy an octopus? Let's see some ID first - NHL

    Playoff hockey. Serious business.

Quoted: You can buy an octopus this week at Wholey's Fish Market in Pittsburgh -- unless you're wearing Detroit Red Wings gear..."I have the utmost respect for all the people of Detroit," Wholey said, according to the report. "They are great citizens and great hockey fans, just like I am. But I'm a Penguins fan first and foremost and I want to see the Penguins win, period." If that means checking ID and listening for customers with Midwestern accents, that's what he's willing to do.

London's shame as protests plunge Olympic torch relay into chaos| News | This is London

I find this to be incredibly fascinating. Similar to a video game like Resident Evil, only instead of zombies you have protesters attacking you and your entourage.

Quoted: In bizarre scenes, Chinese security guards and hundreds of police fought running battles with protesters against the plight of Tibet. Terrified athletes and celebrities carrying the torch were forced to run for cover. Downing Street was privately furious as the embarrassing fiasco - costing £1million and likened to "Chinese police-state tactics" in London - was beamed around the world on TV.

Derek Beres: MTV Recreates the Holocaust -- for Teens

Unfortunately it didn't involve the casts of Laguna Beach and The Hills. Come to think of it, I can't even remember the last time I watched MTV. I was struggling to name a third big show that I could include in my ridicule, but I realized I haven't seen or heard anyone talk about anything even remotely related to MTV in at least 3 or 4 months.

Quoted: A recent series of commercials produced by MTV's youth networking website, Think MTV, poses an interesting conundrum to the modern television viewer. Using the Holocaust as the backdrop for what could befall America if we are "not careful," the 30-second spots questions the integrity of the network for using an example that remains fresh in the memories and minds of a culture...The first, Subway Roundup, starts off on a NY underground car that buckles along shakily. The lights go out; the faces of riders are nervous, or disinterested; the car rocks side to side, apparently mimicking concentration camp railways. When the car stops, fierce officers gaze in, machine guns cocked. They lead the riders out in a single line fashion, sometimes pushing, forming an orderly line. The final image dissolves into Nazi Germany.

Threatened pandas taught new sex moves - CNN.com

Something you may not know about me. I don't like pandas. I know they're cute, but they are like the Terry Schiavo of the animal kingdom. They're doing everything they can to go extinct and we won't let them, just because people think they're cute. I don't have an ecological or ethical objection to the panda saving efforts, its just that these animals seem so content with going extinct that I have almost decided that enough is enough.

They don't eat meat, but instead eat berries and bamboo. They can't get much protein or energy from bamboo shoots because their digestive system sucks, which means they have to eat 30 pounds of bamboo a day to survive. They don't like to mate, so their numbers are significantly lower than they should be.

And look at that stupid look on this panda's face. He is happy to do nothing in the interest of self-preservation. Stupid panda jerk.

Quoted: Animal handlers in China have developed a "sexercise" program to try to encourage extinction-threatened pandas to overcome their notoriously low sex drives. Featuring hip and pelvic-strengthening "dances" for male pandas, the program also sees inexperienced pandas watching their older relatives make love to learn a few moves.
