Great Gods.
Quoted: Apple’s share of the $1,000-plus retail market was less than 18% in January 2006 according to NPD. By September 2007, it had grown to more than 57%. And in the first quarter of 2008 it hit a record 66%.

This is the coolest hack/project I've seen for old Apple equipment since Briel's Apple-I emulator. VERY NEAT!

Well, if you're older than 30, you WILL believe it.

Deep link into image database of old Homebrew Computer Club newsletters. The link is to the second newsletter, page six. The member-supplied shout-outs are wonderful: at the end of column one is Tom Pittman's entry, at the end of column two is Steve Wozniak's entry.
The higher-level link to see all the issues is:

Tightly-reasoned argument regarding the benefits to Apple resulting from "Compatible with iTunes" media player sales. One logical gap is that unprotected tracks cost more keeping yet another advantage for FairPlay-capable iPods, but it can be argued that since most customers don't buy many iTunes tracks (if any), this will be a very small factor.
Quoted: Apple's recent deal with EMI to sell DRM-free songs from the publisher's catalog on iTunes may clinch the iPod's AAC format as the industry standard.

Time Magazine's take on the iPhone. The closing paragraph is quoted:
Quoted: When our tools don't work, we tend to blame ourselves, for being too stupid or not reading the manual or having too-fat fingers. “I think there's almost a belligerence—people are frustrated with their manufactured environment,” says Ive. “We tend to assume the problem is with us, and not with the products we're trying to use.” In other words, when our tools are broken, we feel broken. And when somebody fixes one, we feel a tiny bit more whole.
