brent.meyer | Shared With: Everyone - Oct 03 2006 | prison break, tvI have to admit, I've been hooked on Prison Break. Yeah, the dialogue is predictable and the premise is borderline absurd, but it always keeps you on the edge as to what will happen next.
ANYWAY, if you've been watching, you've probably seen the bit at the end where you can see a sneak preview of the next episode online if you're an Amex card member.
What they don't tell you is that anybody (cardmember or not) can just right-click on the image and click Play. Aahhh, the joys of Flash.

$150k? I'll take two.
Quoted: LG's monster 100in (250cm) LCD TV - already assured of a place in the Guiness Book of Records as the world's largest liquid crystal telly - is finally set to go into mass production, the company has revealed. Not that it'll come cheap: expect to pay at least $150,000 if you want one.

Good job Kabir! Although I'm slightly disappointed I didn't see one of my "George Bush is a giant flaming a-hole" Dots... maybe next time. :)

On September 10, ABC will be running a "documentary" about the days leading up to 9/11, that, it claims, is based on the 9/11 Commission Report. This claim is simply untrue--the purpose of this show is to make the Clinton administration look like intellectually lazy cowards and the Bush administration look like triumphant heroes.
The script for this program was written by an admitted conservative ideologue. The program was advance-screened only for conservative pundits and bloggers, and has been hailed by Rush Limbaugh. Finally, many important situations depicted in this program have been refuted by people who were there.
ActForChange has a nice page with some advice if you'd like to take action. With enough pressure, and the threat of an advertiser boycott, ABC could well cancel this broadcast.
Quoted: ActForChange makes it fast and easy to speak out on the causes that matter to you most, from women's rights to U.S. foreign policy to the environment. Just select form any number of ready-to-send, hard-hitting e-mails that targeted lawmakers and business leaders will sit up and notice. Man, this really makes you wonder about how the people you see on TV *really* look. No wonder so many people in this country have horrible self-image issues.
Nice photoshop job, though.

Tony Snow is spending taxpayer money to convert the daily White House news briefing into a Fox News show. In related news, my brain just exploded.
Quoted: Earlier this year, Fox News talk show host Tony Snow was hired as press secretary. Next up: a renovation of the briefing room, likely with a video wall that could display everything from "flags waving in the breeze [to] detailed charts and graphs," according to a senior White House official working on the project. For TV viewers, the video feed could be the sole on-screen image, or could share the space with the speaker.

This *would* be cool, except for the fact that you have to sign up for the $14.99/month MEdia Net unlimited plan, plus the $4.99/month HBO premium service.
Cool idea, horrible execution. I'll wait until the videos go up on YouTube.
Quoted: Cingular Wireless, the No. 1 U.S. cellphone service, said on Wednesday that cable channel HBO has produced a special mobile mini-series based on the popular show "Entourage" that extends the story beyond what is shown on television.
