Taliban Threaten Dutch over Anti-Islam Film

So they killed at least two people because the film equated Islam with violence. How do they not get it?

Quoted: A few days after the anti-Islam film “Fitna” was released on the Internet, the Afghan Taliban claim to have attacked Dutch forces in Afghanistan on Sunday. ...The Taliban have declared on the Internet that they launched the two fatal attacks against Dutch soldiers as a response to Geert Wilders' short film that, they say, insulted Islam.

Islam critic Geert Wilders launched his short video on the Internet on Thursday evening. Titled "Fitna", an Arabic term sometimes translated as "strife", it intersperses images of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States and Islamist bombings with quotations from the Koran, Islam's holy book.

I Faved this yesterday on LiveLEak.com, but they've taken it down because of threats. Here it is on YouTube -- but because opf the nature of the film, you may have to register with YouTube to view it.

    It's worth seeing.

    Rushdie knighthood 'justifies suicide attacks'

Extremism and terrorism? Wherever did they get THAT idea?

Quoted: "The west is accusing Muslims of extremism and terrorism. If someone exploded a bomb on his body he would be right to do so unless the British government apologises and withdraws the 'sir' title."

Fred Thompson Report: Thoughts on Virginia Tech

I'm not sure I'm ready for fully armed college campuses, but this opinion piece by Republican Fred Thompson provides some well expressed food for thought. Many of my friends will vehemently disagree -- feel free to comment.

Quoted: One of the things that's got to be going through a lot of peoples' minds now is how one man with two handguns, that he had to reload time and time again, could go from classroom to classroom on the Virginia Tech campus without being stopped. Much of the answer can be found in policies put in place by the university itself.
