    The Mix-Up: Music: Beastie Boys

I've been listening to this while working lately, I really like their new album. Note it is instrumental only.

Odd that it is 8.99 on amazon and 9.99 on itunes.com.

NPR : Heavy Metal Fans Are NPR Listeners, Too

This is why I love NPR - they wrote a poem about heavy metal based on listener letters written in after another piece where a guest commented "Anyone who listens to heavy metal must have a very low IQ"

Quoted: A recent report on the state of heavy metal music prompted a flurry of listener e-mail. One listener wrote that NPR was assaulting its audience by playing such music. Metalheads objected en masse. Stay tuned to hear the result — in rhymed couplets.

    Music: Regina Spektor

Ben introduced me to this Russian pop music. She's got a hint of Bjork in her as well as maybe a little tori amos.

    definitely worth checking out.

UPDATE 2 - okay, this is the last one I promise. She also has a channel on YouTube where she posts videos. I think that is a really cool way to market yourself. Her videos are quite funny, ben and I watched them on the CD, but you can see them on YouTube as well. And apparently she was in seattle this fall. YouTube is so cool!

While not a splash, Zune makes positive debut - USATODAY.com

Cool, maybe, just maybe, microsoft can move beyond windows and office.

Quoted: The Zune, Microsoft's much-hyped answer to Apple's trend-setting iPod, had a good first four days of sales, says a leading research firm. But consumer electronics analysts don't think Apple has anything to worry about. The NPD Group, which tracks...
