    Living in Oblivion

we watched this film last night, and I have to say, it was a very good movie. i'm not going to give a full synopsis like Sung usually does, but I will say it was definitely worth the rental. It is fun, and hopefully it will catch you quite off guard.

i really hope HD DVD wins out over Blu-Ray, not so much because I care to buy into the HD thing, but because I like when technologies that make sense for regular people beat technologies that make sense for big corporations.

Jendresen Talks "Star Trek XI" (March 10th, 2005) - Dark Horizons

some information on the potentially upcoming Star Trek XI. Apparently they're planning on doing this one 170 years before Kirk's show, and they're also claiming not to be making it an Enterprise spin-off. Apparently they're going to take a totally blank slate approach to the series and the "future history" of Earth. I'm not sure that without Patrick Stewart it's going to be any good, but who knows. I'll probably watch it anyway...

Just saw this this evening. I'd say Gore is trying to build himself a new platform on which to run, but all things being equal, I'd be ok with that.

This movie was, whether or not you like to believe in data, a well made movie. A bit "look at me I'm Al Gore at times", but on the whole worth watching.

    The Squid and the Whale

saw this movie last night, it was pretty well done. the acting was just fantastic, and some of the scenes in this were the kind of scenes that you know happen in real life, but nobody actually wants to put them into a movie.

SPACE.com -- 'Star Trek' to Return with 'Mission Impossible: 3' Director at Helm

interesting, looks like another Star Trek feature film might be in the works. I really hope they give Next Generation another go because they really need to have a good movie made with that cast...
