I have to wonder if this web site's prediction algorithms might become something that modify the outcome... If everyone had access to the predicted future, and they adjusted their behavior according to the predictions, then the market would be modified by the predictions making the original predictions invalid. I think this might be a product that will forecast its own demise by giving it away to everyone...

not a bad article talking about whether or not the savings on gas is really worth it in buying a new hybrid.
bottom line is that if your current gas milage is really bad, it might be, but if your current gas milage is close, you'll likely be losing money.
the major benefit of driving a hybrid, however, is lower emissions, which may be well worth the added cost, and the author of this article does point out that if gas prices rise, which they will, the red starts to turn to green, even if your fully gas powered car fairly fuel efficient already...
