Hmm, I'm torn on how I feel about this. It sort of goes along with the luxury tax idea (cars) or the environmental/health risk idea (alcohol, tobacco, gas), but it's also a bit regressive, in that it disporportionately affects the poor. Sure, you might think that punishing the poor for eating fast food is helping them, and the nation, in the long run, but how parental are we willing to be as a nation? Shouldnt we have public education campaigns or offer incentives for eating healthy rather than punishments for choosing what, to many people, is one of limited options?
To me the burden here should be more on the goverment and/or the companies, rather than the consumer, or at least shared equally.

What do y'all think?
