The past year has seen sequels from popular franchises Grand Theft Auto, Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Call of Duty, and Fallout. With the gaming industry notoriously unstable, some titles don't get their story continued. Here are 10 games that deserve sequels, including love for System Shock and Oddworld.

This week in gaming brought us the inauguration of the 44th president Barack Obama as seen from Fallout 3, the release of an unexpected first-person gem for the DS in Moon, and more industry drama as Microsoft and Sony trade words.

Fallout from the November sales data continues to mount for Sony and its PlayStation family. CNNMoney's Silicon Alley Insider column pulled no punches in its assessment of the numbers calling the PS3 "A sinking ship" in light of its sales declining 19 percent compared to what it did last year. While that's a bit melodramatic, it's hard to argue.

Bethesda demonstrated Fallout 3 during the Microsoft press conference at E3. Bethesda game director Todd Howard took us through a short gameplay session. The demonstration began with the Vault character leaving Vault 101. He first ran into an iBot, broadcasting patriotic music.
