Nick Swisher Traded To White Sox

    Semi-blockbuster.

Quoted: Today's hottest baseball trade rumors. If it's whispered, we hear it.

i dunno, we definitely need some power in the outfield, but I don't see a ton of that yet in his 3 year split at U.S. Cellular Field:

AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO AVG OBP SLG OPS
      37 5 14 4 0 1 9 6 9 .378 .455 .568 1.023

then again, he is young...so who knows...it just makes me nervous when we tried high prospects like this...

Small sample size alert, but those are great power numbers anyways. A-Rod had a monster 2007 by any measure -- he OPS'ed 1.067 (with better power numbers, but still ...).

Swisher is the real deal, but defensively lacking and ... well, I wouldn't give up 2 top tier prospects for him. I don't like the deal for the pale hose.
