I think this actually makes a lot of sense -- a kiosk only goes so far. MCE, Zune, and recent smart phone / PDA type devices are considerably more interesting than a "solution center featuring platform and development tools" (ewwwwww).

There are some pretty crazy operators in here. Search photos by camera make? Just tried it, works well.

The last Dell I got here at work was surprisingly tame with regard to craplets. I didn't even bother reformatting the OS -- that's right baby, rocking your Blue Dot features on XP Home all day long.
