Let the price wars begin?

The bad news continues for PS3.

Sony PDF showing that only the $599 version of the PS3 will have an HDMI output. Not that big of a deal, since almost none of the games will support 1080p anyways (1080i will obviously be the max out of component), but still pretty pathetic.

Full coverage of the Sony pre-E3 conference. New controller is unveiled -- it's basically a PS2 controller (wireless) with motion detection. $499 for the low-end machine. Ouch.

Good roundup of Sony / PS3 news here. The key info -- it's now scheduled for release in November 2006, one full year after Xbox 360's launch. The delays have been mostly due to Blu-ray issues, including but not limited to the DRM (AACS). Wonderful.

Time will tell if the wait for Blu-ray was worth it. Microsoft looks smarter every day in this game.
