An article documenting some hands-on time with the PS3. No surprises here for me. Games will not, for the most part, be rendered in 1080p (they'll be internally rendered at 720p like Xbox 360 titles), and its technical advantages over the Xbox 360 are fairly minimal in practice.

Good article with info on next gen DVD formats, focusing on 1080p. Sounds like the HD-DVD camp is far more practical at this point. Sony's insistence on 1080p output in Blu-Ray players is silly, since they only ship one set (a $13K Qualia with a $3K upgrade kit) that even supports 1080p input. I predict that we'll see 1080i at launch from both formats. Yes, both. Sigh.
