I've been following SED TVs for quite some time now. You'll still hear hopeful souls disappointed by the current crop of digital microdisplays thinking they'll be out mid-2006, but that's obviously not going to happen. If they release Q4 '07, they probably won't be affordable (regardless of production costs, production capacity and demand will greatly inflate prices) until late '08 or early '09 (remember $25,000 short-life plasmas?), so you might want to get something HD capable to hold you over until then. :)
