Tough one -- Bedard is really ridiculously good, but AJ had star potential all day long. If the ball bounces our way this season, it may look like a good deal. We'll see ...

BBTF's Transaction Oracle Discussion :: Seattle - Supposedly Signed Silva

    Ugh.

Quoted: Not really the worst signing in the world, since he was sadly one of the most valuable starting pitchers in the FA market and Nintendo's awash in Wii-cash, but something just seems perverse about signing a player for $11 million a year and have him not even be good enough to crack the starting rotation of your primary competition the upcoming season.

BookMooch: exchange books and trade them, like a book swap or book barter

Cool idea -- trade or give away old books. I have some old technical books that I might try to send to new homes here. The home page graphic is kind of creepy, and also kind of awesome.

Quoted: Why create this?: if you're passionate about books, you know how emotionally difficult it is to throw a book away, even if you will never read it again. You want to find a good home for your books, have them find someone who appreciates them. Also, you may be interested in trying a lot of books out, and keep the ones that are great. It's a great crime to have a book disappear, out of print, for none to read. BookMooch keeps books in circulation, and finds new readers for them. If you're interested in getting free books, you can donate to charities, the points you gain by giving your books away.
