I'm struck with awe looking at this scene, it's simply amazing! This photographer has really mastered the art of capturing a magical portrait of the dramas in the everyday lives of children. The stunning image here reveals a passionate childhood moment that lives on with us in our later years. The details, the exquisite expressions on the children's faces, their postures, the marvelous sense of texture and shading, the wonderful use of subtle sepia tone, the mix of humor with pathos. There's just so much to see here, so much to love. Amazing. Perfect.

This is so exciting, it's like a little Toy City! A wonderful image, there's so much to see here in such a tiny sliver of our world. It's like putting a drop of pond water under a microscope, with the picture's brisk, crisp details and lively colors: the line of cabs, the L shape of the streets straightly framing the two sides, the colorful people dotting the street corner and those fancy probably socialites dining on their terrace. Even the words on the street are perfectly aligned. And about those the cabs in perfect lineup...how did the photographer manage to make them perform like that? I'm hungry right now, and that makes me wonder just what these fancy rich socialite people are eating. Probably some fresh tagliatelle from Allen & Delancey, or someplace like that. Can't decide what I like most about this amazing photograph, there's so much to look at, so much to love.

This is an incredible scene, it's really something very different from what I expected to see. If you just think of having to go outside and face yet another dreary, rainy day in the city as the sun is going, you certainly wouldn't anticipate picturing this. You can tell that this is one of the few street photographers who really enjoys working with the subtle moodiness of cloudiness and rain. Even so, this scene is really quite a big stretch, and a surprisingly very nice one at that. Looking at this has a very calming effect. It gives the impression of something that's been preserved in amber. Amber rainfall in the sunset. Perfect, that's all I can say. Just perfect.

To me, this is a gorgeous scene...the picture evokes so many thoughts. First, I have to say that with all of the noisy commotion pounding on us right now with the July Fourth Weekend: the manically-batty efforts of politicians to grab more media attention, the winding down and newly impending armed conflicts abroad...this little scene offers a welcome, peaceful respite. It's a great shot, you can tell that this photographer enjoys working outside with the subtle moodiness of cloudiness and occasional rain.
And...very nice blue neon. Places in Europe still seem to be using classical neon signs a lot more than we do here. And the mix of the crispness, the composition and the historic, fading of pastel beige colors is highlighted by the angle of the shot...all coming together for a very calming effect. Could sit down and have a quiet little meal there...maybe some pasta with boar's meat sauce.

OMG!! Part elephant, part gigantic panda…this dreaded heard of Elephandas Monsters, the most menacing of beasts, has been unleashed onto the good peoples of Thailand!
Oooops…Wait, no. My mistake. Turns out, seems like after a couple of very too-popular panda baby thingees was borned in a Thailand zoo, the employees there got sick of everyone saying “panda this” and “panda that.” So they painted up a bunch of poor elephants to look like panda thngs to remind everyone that the elephant is still the national animal of Thailand. Or at least that if they forget that, maybe the dreaded Elephanda will be!!

Geeze whiz...I never expected to see such a sight like this one here! Wonder if they work in some kind of weirdo-wacky karnival. Oh, now that I look closer, this might be Coney Island, and these are some Citiez Merboys In Waiting for the Mermaid Parade. Truly some very ingenious and delirious lookin' Merboys at that...but sorry to say, they're a week early. Got all painty-glittered up too soon. Yep, that Mermaid Parade thingee don't start with all them silly-billy Mermaids peoples until Saturday, the 20th. So I'll just have to tell these Delirious Merboys, “No Sleep Till Brooklyn!” Hows that, Delirious Merboys In Waiting? Oh well, maybe they're only just patiently waiting for their Cirque du Soleil audition. Still very wacky-do delirious, though.

This must be at a museum, looks like in New York City. And this window is like a picture frame, making the architecture of the city into a part of the exhibition. The dark silhouette there....Stop, you shouldn't say it that way! That would be a very crazy disturbed thing to say, 'cause silhouettes are always dark. So anyway, that silhouette thing there with the hat on...is it a person or could it be be a sculpture? When I look into this, the perspective gives me a very odd sensation, like almost being sucked right out of that window and into the distance. Such awesome deep focus. Now, "Look hard...try to find the yellows!"

Wow....there's so much great stuff going on in this scene. Those gangly streetlight creatures with their bright eyes, the gauntlet of cones and barriers, the grid of buildings in the background, and right there in the eye of the storm is this rumpled guy, his hair's like a dark condensed version of that smoky steam cloud. Yes, looks like the urban mic-mac guy's emerging from a disaster scene. Very dramatic...if only that guy was Will Smith, this could have been the poster for "I Am Legend." This photograph captures a nice moment where everything works together, the way he walks, the bright traffic lights, the one-way sign on the right. Okay, so it's not really Will Smith...but there's so much going on around, so much drama, and yet he looks so utterly detached from it. So must be some kind of young Einstein, deeply pre-occupied with his theory-thingees as he quietly walks away from an experiment gone terribly awry.

Wow...what an amazing shot! Each separate element would have been great by itself, but this manages to catch everything at just the right moment. This is my favorite bridge in New York City, and here it's captured it so well. Unbelievable...the comparison of something so big with something so small. I was already really impressed with this shot, and then I scrolled down and saw the bird! How did the photographer manage to catch that bird? I'm not sure it could be more perfect than this. There are those rare pictures that make something entirely different, and I would definitely say: mission accomplished here. This is a picture of a bridge that people have seen a thousand times, but it makes it new and different once more. Perfect. The bird is just the cherry on top! Timing is a wonderful thing.
Includes a short-short 9-sec. time-lapse video of “The Manhattan Bridge at Night.”
