But much worse than that, consider that she has to suffer the daily indignity of being just a "chatting-head" on The View, compounded by the fact that on Monday her co-hosts babbled non-stop about it in front of an audience of millions, flinging the shards of her dignity around the set.

Tammy Faye Messner, who as Tammy Faye Bakker helped her husband, the infamous televangelist Jim Bakker, build a multimillion-dollar evangelism empire and then watched it collapse in disgrace, has died at the age of 65. Tammy Faye had battled colon cancer since 1996. She is said to have died peacefully Friday at her home near Kansas City, Mo. Photographs and a video of her last T.V. interview are included.
