    Tap House Grill - Lunch

If you go here for lunch I hope you have a better seafood linguine experience than me today. It's one of those things that sounds better than it tastes. I had to bring it home and douse it in Trader Joe's pasta spice and 21 seasoning salute, +salt & pepper to make it not as bland as iceberg lettuce.

Hemp Bliss Hemp Milk, Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods & Oils - Healthy, Green Reviews - SustainLane

I'm going vegan! I don't have any real good reason to do it, other than the fact that I've never done it. So, why not?

Seyi said it'll be something to do for Lent. But I'm not Catholic! "So what," she said. "Good point", I reflected, "After all, I celebrate Christmas."

"Ok, I'll go vegan for Lent. Why not?" I replied, excited.

    Um... when's Lent?

5 Food Fixes for Flat Abs

You know I do it purely for medical reasons.

Quoted: 4. Drink a glass of wine a day. Don't start drinking wine just to fight ab fat, but if you enjoy a glass with dinner, it's a great benefit. Some studies even suggest that light to moderate drinking protects against female midsection weight gain, compared with teetotaling. Based on a review of data collected by the National Center for Health Statistics, one 4-ounce glass of red or white wine most days a week (up to 20 a month) seems to be best.

Anyone wanna try French-Korean with me?

Quoted: 4 Reviews on Yelp.com - "See if you can find something that isn't awesome about this. Two former chefs from Per Se and the Essex House open a French-Korean bistro with a reasonably-priced wine list."

I had always been conflicted about this.

Quoted: Well, new research from the University of Wales (academic citation, Guardian article) suggests that in general, the food miles are actually a minor portion of the total ecological footprint of food. In the study of a basket of foods in Cardiff, transport amounted to only 2% of the total environmental cost. Growing conditions, packaging and processing made up the bulk of the impact. In fact, a separate article in the same journal shows that local food systems actually have slightly higher carbon emissions!

    :(

Quoted:Sadly, Takohachi is closing for good on June 2. The owner is retiring and, according to one of the many charming and carefully hand-lettered signs that hang on the restaurant’s walls, a new Japanese restaurant will open in the spot on 610 S Jackson later this summer. I have no idea what that place will be like; I can only hope it will retain the tall, wooden booths and simplicity and comfort of its former occupant’s food.

    Hell yah!
