If you go here for lunch I hope you have a better seafood linguine experience than me today. It's one of those things that sounds better than it tastes. I had to bring it home and douse it in Trader Joe's pasta spice and 21 seasoning salute, +salt & pepper to make it not as bland as iceberg lettuce.

Quoted: Each day you make decisions which affect your life — where you buy your coffee, your lunch, your dinner, your glass of wine. On April 3rd, 2007, we offer you the opportunity to make these same choices and have them make a difference in the world. Purchase your food and drink at a 'Dine for Darfur' establishment and 25% of that money will be generously donated to aid relief efforts in Darfur. By choosing to eat at participating restaurants on April 3rd, you are choosing to support Seattle's neighborhood restaurants in their effort to make a difference in the world.

I went to La Creperie Cafe on 2nd street for my 2nd 25th birthday dinner and had the seafood savory crepe. I could barely finish it. It was so rich and creamy. The atmosphere is fun but can get too loud if you are trying to have a long conversation. Their wine list is extensive and all wine bottles are half off on Monday nights. I met our waiter who's a Brazillian from Sao Paulo and also works as a photographer. I was able to say "thank you" in Portugese and that was an effort because I had a little too much of the "seven deadly zin" zinfandel.
Quoted: La Creperie Cafe Reviews - BEST CREPES EVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR! these are just so good, SO decadent. Chef Parmetier is a genius! Why, these crepe are better than FRENCH CREPES! Been there done that. I tried crepe places in San Francisco (they have tons of crepe places) BUT NONE CAN COMPARE!

dragonc | Shared With: Everyone - Oct 14 2006 | pastries, food, restaurants, cafe, ballardI told Thais of my recent craving for croissants, and how I have been searching all the over the city for The Perfect Croissant, so she told me to check out the bakery "somewhere near QFC in Ballard". Yes, ambiguous direction is the story of my life.
This morning I went down to QFC and stood around the parking lot, one hand over my forehead like Ferdinand Magellan looking for the Spice Islands. "I Want Buttery Fluffy Croissants, can you tell me where the bakery is?" After having been told "there's one somewhere on 24th", I found Cafe Besalu with a line outside the door. When I finally got to the counter, it was like Heaven's Gate just opened, and the guy taking my order was St. Peter, taking me into Pastries Paradise. I gleefully got my croissant and brioche (yeah, brioche!) and will come back again!
Quoted: A bite into any of the pastries suggests that everything is handmade and fresh; the flurry of dough-plying behind the counter confirms it. The apple Danish and spinach quiche are good, and the croissants and brioches are outstanding, as is the pain au chocolat. If you need incentives to drag yourself out of bed, you won't find many better than this.

Who wants delicious pizzas and free wifi? Say yay for Pazzo's.
In a related note, I told some friends last night that the best three words that anyone could ever say to me is not "I love you" or "It's on sale", but "Free Wi-fi". They looked at me weird, but then, realizing that it came from me, they nodded knowingly.
Quoted: Pazzo's prepares practically pristine pizza. Almost everything about Pazzo's is simple, and therein lies its charm. The menu, with straightforward but delicious pizzas and calzones, is minimalist. Loyal regulars (frat types and professionals alike) seem to choose it for its peculiar sports-bar feel. Not "peculiar" because the TV is tuned to exotic sports; it's just that the atmosphere is refreshingly low-key.

1 FaverViewed: 4 TimesQuoted: Christmas decorations dangling within an inch of our personal irony thresholds have been mandating holly jolly mood adjustments since October in many Seattle stores. But, with record-high unemployment and the ongoing home foreclosure crisis, the sentiment to spend and indulge is almost unbearable for many of us around Seattle.
