Liz and I are totally hooked on HBO's John Adams miniseries. This is a great site for satisfying curiosity about his and other presidencies.
Quoted: The American Presidency Project contains the most comprehensive collection of resources pertaining to the study of the President of the United States. Compiled by John Woolley and Gerhard Peters at the University of California.

Calvin Prof. Doug Howard cited in an article about supposed Muslim-terrorists-turned-Christians out on the public speaking tour. They spoke at the AFA yesterday and at Calvin in November.
Quoted: Mr. Howard said his doubts about their authenticity grew after stories like the Golan Heights saga as well as something on Mr. Saleem’s Web site along the lines that he was descended from the grand wazir of Islam. “The grand wazir of Islam is a nonsensical term,” Mr. Howard said.

Quoted: History will remember the 2008 Dennis Kucinich campaign for two things: his hot wife Elizabeth, and bringing UFOs back into the political dialogue.
Quoted: Especially after the attacks of 9/11, it is no longer satisfactory to ignore radar returns … which cannot be associated with performances of existing aircraft and helicopters,” they said in a statement released at a news conference.

Wonkette's title to the link: "Iraq War driving State Department crazy." I didn't know it was meant literally.
Quoted: U.S. diplomats are returning from Iraq with the same debilitating, stress-related symptoms that have afflicted many U.S. troops, prompting the State Department to order a mental health survey of 1,400 employees who have completed assignments there.

MC Rove... I don't know what to say about this. If you like watching extraordinarily awkward things, this is for you.

Quoted: In perhaps the boldest and most sophisticated attack in four years of warfare, gunmen speaking English, wearing U.S. military uniforms and carrying American weapons abducted four U.S. soldiers last week at the provincial headquarters in the Shiite holy city of Karbala and then shot them to death.
My goodness. They also drove the same black Suburbans used by US gov't convoys in Iraq. I saw blond hair reported somewhere else, or maybe somewhere in this article. Very strange.

The Pentagon is calling on corporate clients to take their legal work to firms that don't represent Gitmo detainees...highly unprofessional behavior, at best (By Stimson, not the law firms he's attempting to threaten).
Quoted: Wrote the Post: “But it’s offensive — shocking, to use his word — that Mr. Stimson, a lawyer, would argue that law firms are doing anything other than upholding the highest ethical traditions of the bar by taking on the most unpopular of defendants. It’s shocking that he would seemingly encourage the firms’ corporate clients to pressure them to drop this work. And it’s shocking — though perhaps not surprising — that this is the person the administration has chosen to oversee detainee policy at Guantanamo.”

You must be Drew's friend before you can comment on this Fave.Awww crap, Drew likes the show....;p Maybe there still hope, we both liked West Wing.
Interesting that we have shortened this: "And may that Being who is supreme over all, the Patron of Order, the Fountain of Justice, and the Protector in all ages of the world of virtuous liberty, continue His blessing upon this nation and its Government and give it all possible success and duration consistent with the ends of His providence." To "God Bless America."
Interesting too that they had always said "God save the Queen" as colonialists. Maybe brevity isn't the best idea when making requests of this magnitude.
Rob, I think you'll like this one. Especially if you could tolerate that smug liberal, Jed Bartlett.
Yeah, Bartlett was good, but Toby and Lord John MaIbury were my favorite. Melis liked CJ (not surprisingly) and Sam.
CJ, definitely my favorite.
I've decided I don't like John Adams' character... GW is awesome. John... not so much. Sorry John.
Send Drew a friend request or a personal message instead.
