What the what? She'll be in Toronto while signing autographs in Vancouver and Halifax. There's a link to her invention's website. I haven't figured out how it works yet.

Quoted: Margaret Atwood will sign books for fans in Vancouver and Halifax using the LongPen, allowing her to talk with each fan via private video chat and to transmit a genuine, personalized autograph instantly to their copy of the book.

A Sad Giant Awakens in Nantes - DivineCaroline

My friends in the puppeteering community were thrilled by this. I like it too. That's a shipping container he's sitting on.

Quoted: The remarkable French marionette street theatre Royal de Lux unveiled their latest creations this past weekend. As the highlight of the Estuary 2009 Arts Festival in Nantes, the theater drew a gigantic crowd to view a gigantic fairytale.

Must Be the Shoes (Those Watermelon Sneakers) - City Room Blog - NYTimes.com

Had a hard time finding a good quote to sum this story up. It's a fun read about an aging Manhattanite and his love of Red Ruffing and red shoes.

Quoted: Thirteen days a year: that would be the limit, he decided. These would be called “my watermelon days.”

I wasn't a reader of the Baseball Card Blog until this final goodbye post, but I think I wish I had been. This is great.

Coming to a fine wine retailer near you. Much to Roger Goodell's chagrin, because any discussion of this wine "may have a detrimental effect on the great number of young fans who follow our game." Yeah, this is the image problem you need worry about.

Quoted: Blended from grapes that were cultivated in some of the most exclusive vineyards in the Napa Valley, TwentyFour embodies the abundant blessings that surround us. This is a wine of pure enjoyment, gratitude, giving back and paying forward. From our cellar to yours,

NASA Makes Magnetic Fields Visible - Video - The Daily Buzzer

My sister Emma was trying to convince me the other day that NASA is worthwhile and noble and probably did not fake any portion of the Mars rover footage. The "Magnetic Movie" is very cool to watch, but I'm not sure yet whose arguments it bolsters in our debate.

    Social networking site for ladies.

Quoted: KiRTSY is a place to find things. News. Ideas. Information. Products. Coolness. And more and more and more. It's like that friend who always finds the best stuff... only better. Because it finds the stuff online. And let's face it, there are billions of online options...and finding something you're interested in is sometimes tricky. A spot that you can stop in to see what excellent things others have found.
