Looks like the Whitecaps rotation will be worth watching no matter who it includes. There are at least 10 guys vying for spots, with some interesting prospects in the mix.
Quoted: The biggest dose of that infusion is expected to come from Casey Crosby. He got a $750,000 bonus for his ability to throw in the mid 90s with his left arm, and you can bet the Tigers are anxious to start to get some return on investment.

I caught him and Prof. Penning on CSPAN the other day too. Nice to see him getting big attention after being at the forefront of research in this area for so long. He's also a very cool guy, and is no doubt enjoying all this.
Quoted: Recently, reporters from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Christianity Today, The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times and USA Today have sought the opinion of Calvin professor of political science and director of the Paul B. Henry Institute, Corwin Smidt.
Quoted: For the first time since the New Deal, the percentage of mainline Protestants who identify as Democrats is the greater than the percentage who identify as Republicans.

Look forward to big things at 5th/3rd next year from Rick Porcello:
Quoted: “He can do things with his fastball: sink it, run it in, ride it. He is far, far advanced beyond just about anyone 18 years old I’ve ever worked with.”
Quoted: “I don’t know what he’ll pitch at, but he hit 97 (mph) numerous times and worked comfortably at 94-95,”
BTW, does anyone know what "ride it" means in that context?

Very good article about the buildup to the fight.
Quoted: "I'm making this fight. When you watch '24/7' you can all say, 'This kid is cocky, this kid [is] arrogant.' Say what you want. But when you look at '24/7,' you see him playing with his dogs and drinking cappuccino and you say, 'We all do that, go back to that Mayweather. There's controversy and excitement with that kid Mayweather.'"

I hate to distract from sock-gate (seriously, I do) but Simmons had to weigh in on Mayweather - De La Hoya and the decline of boxing, so I had to dot it. May 5th can't come soon enough.
Quoted: We need to knock down the house and start over. And in the years following the De La Hoya-Mayweather fight, as boxing crumbles from a lack of mainstream interest, we will. Until then, let's enjoy the Last Big Fight. Call your buddy with the big TV and tell him you're coming over on May 5. Just like old times.

This happened two doors down from the house I lived in for 4+ years. Keep the boys in your prayers - they had a tough enough life before this happened.
Quoted: When police arrived the 13 and 14-year old had minor injuries, but their grandmother, 55-year old Evelynia Hill, was dead. The boys had tried to help her.
Police did catch the killer later, in New Orleans I think

This whole thing was probably set up by the Davenport Board of Trustees to promote that they have dorms.
