Ricky Gervais' This Side of the Truth Is Going to Be So Awesome | BuzzSugar

John Hodgman and Jason Bateman are also on board. Wowie, wow, wow.

There's a link for Gervais's blog of the film-making process - it's mostly made up of slanderous stories about the stars. Definitely worth checking out.

"The Iron Ladies" has been widely celebrated since its release at the Denver Film Fest in November. It's showing at the UICA on Tuesday at 7pm. Here's a clip.

Quoted: Iron Ladies focuses on the new president of Liberia, Ellen Sirleaf Johnson, and the group of women she appointed to key positions as the country transitions from civil war to democratic government.

    Michael Clayton - Rotten Tomatoes

I haven't seen a movie in the theater in a while and I'm looking forward to this one.

I watched about 40 minutes of the Bucs-Titans game today and no mention of Michael Clayton being a movie title and the name of a prominent player in the game, despite a few catches by Tampa's Michael Clayton. I was very disappointed.

Quoted: An engrossing intellectual thriller with a shrewd grasp of crowd-pleasing storytelling ... the kind of Hollywood movie we could use a lot more of.

Coming Soon: A New Take On the Old Double Bill - WSJ.com

I just downloaded itunes today to watch "Hotel Chevalier" but I can't find it yet. I'm looking forward to both films.

Quoted: Before "The Darjeeling Limited" is released in New York on Saturday, Mr. Anderson is urging audiences to see another of his films -- this one a related 13-minute short called "Hotel Chevalier" that will be released on the Internet this week.

ps: the article reveals a reason for even non-Wes-Anderson-devotees to watch the web short

    Knocked Up - Rotten Tomatoes

Liz and I saw this over the weekend. LOVED it!

Quoted: Knocked Up is full of huge laughs and witty pop culture banter but also offers insightful and honest explorations of marriage, relationships, friendship and parenthood.

Hot Fuzz: Agatha Christie meets Michael Bay. - By Dana Stevens - Slate Magazine

More praise for "Hot Fuzz." I thought the following might convince some Slagers to check it out:

Quoted: The script is chockablock with absurd puns that somehow become funnier the more you think about them (pointing out a Sandford local who made his fortune off kitchen appliances, Danny observes, "There goes the fridge magnate").

Hot Fuzz | The A.V. Club

Follow up to Derek's dot. See if you spot the word that doesn't mean what the author thinks it means.

Quoted: Shaun Of The Dead creators Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg take on the action movie in a loving parody that's appropriately action-packed.

Shia LaBeouf | The A.V. Club

I thought he was pretty good on SNL last night, but he seems a little intense. And I have to agree with the commenters that Jon Voight as a role model is kinda creepy.

Quoted: The child-actor-turned-movie-star offers a (sort of) candid look at his life and opinions.

I don't know what "Eagle vs. Shark" is about, but I have to see it. Want to try to catch a couple of shows, Liz? Grand Rapidians are also welcome.
